I took my first Zumba® Fitness class at a local gym in the spring of 2012. I was hooked from the first 30 seconds. I continued from there, taking Zumba® classes 3-4 times a week. I was so addicted. I just loved the freedom of movement and creative expression of the class. It was not like any fitness class I’d ever taken—true, we were still working out hard. But you didn’t notice it. As a matter of fact, people in the class would come up to me afterwards and tell me I had a smile on my face the entire class!


Loving the program so much made me toy with the idea of teaching. I kept thinking ‘Could I teach this?’ It took me a while to get up the courage to get licensed, but once I did, I haven’t looked back!

 

I just love teaching Zumba® Fitness classes. What I love about it is that you get people from all walks of life—all ages, all cultures, all abilities—and you get them in the class and you help them to forget their troubles and just have FUN for an hour a week. That’s why I teach: to bring that joy to people that Zumba has given to me.
